The Junior Bank Board raises $1,200 for the United Way
EVANS CITY, PENNSYLVANIA – May 12, 2006 – The NexTier Junior Bank Board is an educational opportunity managed and coordinated by NexTier Bank, which offers high school juniors and seniors in local school districts the opportunity to learn first hand about banking and the role banks play in the community and the economy.
This year, the students on the Junior Bank Board chose to work on a fund raising project for the United Way, holding a Bowl-a-thon this past April 30 at the Family Bowlaway in Butler. “The students planned and coordinated the entire event, soliciting sponsors, bowlers and prizes,” said Junior Board program mentor Jennifer Roxbury, Sr. Vice President of Operations for NexTier.
The event raised $1,200 and the Junior Board will present the check to the United Way on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 8am at the Operations Building of NexTier Bank, located on 245 Pittsburgh Road in Butler.
Board Members: Jeffery J. Baur, President of the Board, Mars High School, Devin Howes, Mars, Andrew McClaine, Karns City High School, Andrew Onufrak, Butler High School, Pamela Gagen South Butler High (Knoch), Sarah Cook and Pamela Donatelli, from Seneca Valley High School.
Business supporters of the event included: NexTier Bank, Woodward Inc., Black Diamond Energy Inc., Olszak Management Consulting, Inc., Boldy’s Bakery, Daman Industrial Services, J. Baur Machine, Seneca Valley Graphics, and the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins organizations.
